More simplification

Jan 11th, 2010 by Jared

I’d only just started skinning Daisy’s uniform, when the issue of her breasts came around again.  Specifically, how best to skin the seam, to keep it from pulling apart.  The solution?  Remove it.

No more holes also means she no longer needs an extra mesh underneath, unless I end up using the new mesh as a wrap deformer…

that’s a shame - the holes are far more interesting. how about using a weighted cluster on each of the overlapping bits which could then be constrained to a follicle on the bit that goes underneath. just a quick thought…

There are a number of options I’m considering, the new mesh is just the easiest. Once it’s skinned, I should be able to copy the weights to the old mesh, with little clean-up. Another option would be to use layered skinning for the breasts, though I’m not sure that would be necessary.
